Here's your chance to pit yourself against 600 Firefighters in a climb up 28 floors wearing 25kgs of Turnout Gear and Breathing Apparatus. This year, the Firefighter's Charity Fund with your help will be climbing to raise $700,000 to aid in the fight against depression, PTSI and suicide. Compete, donate, or sponsor a Firefighter to help the Emergency Services Foundation support mental health initiatives.
“Seeing a doctor for your cough is just as important as seeing a psychologist for your mental health.” It’s okay, to not be okay.
Currently, a volunteer with Bacchus Marsh, climbing to raise money for mental health awareness, as this lives very close to my heart. I personally know what these firefighters and defence personnel deal with, and understand how important it is fund this cause.
Between the 10th of September (RUOK DAY) and 10th of October ( World Mental Health Day) 700 Firefighters and other personal will “step up to fight depression, PTSI and suicide” by meeting the quota of 1 million steps for Mental Health.
This year, with your help, we aim to raise $500,000 for the Emergency Services Foundation, Lifeline and the Black Dog Institute to improve support services, fund research, remove stigmas and raise awareness of Mental health issues like depression, Post Traumatic Stress Injury and suicide, especially for those within the Emergency Service and Defence communities..
So far, I've raised $205 of my $1,000 fundraising goal.
I've completed 335 steps towards our overall goal of 1,000,000 steps.
