Here's your chance to pit yourself against 600 Firefighters in a climb up 28 floors wearing 25kgs of Turnout Gear and Breathing Apparatus. This year, the Firefighter's Charity Fund with your help will be climbing to raise $700,000 to aid in the fight against depression, PTSI and suicide. Compete, donate, or sponsor a Firefighter to help the Emergency Services Foundation support mental health initiatives.
Working in the Wellbeing and Support Services team at Ambulance Victoria, I see the value of encouraging people working in emergency services (both front line and behind the scenes) to think about and look after their mental health, so that it doesn’t get in the way of them doing what is important for them. For me one of those things is to be fully available for my kids. My second reason is I need some motivation to keep active during this time, and thought this was a good way to do that! Now I just need to find the stairs!
So far, I've raised $50 of my $250 fundraising goal.
I've completed 335 steps towards our overall goal of 1,000,000 steps.
