Climbing for CFA Traralgon

Hi everyone—in a month’s time on September 7th, I’ll be competing in the 2024 Melbourne Firefighter Stair Climb representing Traralgon Fire Brigade where I’m a volunteer firefighter.

I’ll be climbing the 28 floors of the Crown Metropol building in 25kg of firefighting gear while breathing 6.8l of cylinder air. I last completed the climb in 2022 with a time of 5min 51sec. I’ve been training hard in preparation and I hope to beat this time.

As part of the climb I’ll also raising money in aid of Lifeline, the Peter MacCallum Cancer Foundation and the 000Foundation. 100% of every dollar donated will go towards fighting cancer, depression, and suicide.

I’ve made no secret of my own struggles with anxiety and depression so it’s a cause that’s very dear to me. Any donations would be really appreciated.

9/11 Memorial

The Melbourne Firefighter Stair Climb remembers the 343 Firefighters that lost their lives in the line of duty on 11th September 2001.

My stair climb race bib will include the name and photo of FDNY Firefighter Christian Regenhard in memory of their sacrifice made on that fateful day. Search and read more about Christian Regenhard.
