Here's your chance to pit yourself against 600 Firefighters in a climb up 28 floors wearing 25kgs of Turnout Gear and Breathing Apparatus. This year, the Firefighter's Charity Fund with your help will be climbing to raise $700,000 to aid in the fight against depression, PTSI and suicide. Compete, donate, or sponsor a Firefighter to help the Emergency Services Foundation support mental health initiatives.
22 years ago the world was shaken. At 0846 the first plane struck the World Trade Centre in New York. 17 minutes later, the second building was struck. Around 3000 people lost their lives that day, 343 of them where firefighters.
On September 2nd I’ll be climbing 28 floors at the Metropol Hotel in Melbourne in 25kg of turnout gear and breathing apparatus to helping to raise $600,000 to improve support services, fund research, remove stigmas and raise awareness of mental health issues
3,046 Australians lose their lives to mental health each year, that’s 3,046 people too many. So let’s smash it out and break the stigmata of mental health and get the conversation rolling!
So far, I've raised $170 of my $500 fundraising goal.
