Here's your chance to pit yourself against 600 Firefighters in a climb up 28 floors wearing 25kgs of Turnout Gear and Breathing Apparatus. This year, the Firefighter's Charity Fund with your help will be climbing to raise $700,000 to aid in the fight against depression, PTSI and suicide. Compete, donate, or sponsor a Firefighter to help the Emergency Services Foundation support mental health initiatives.
Hi everyone, I’ve decided to revisit the stair climb again after 7 years. Not just to raise funds for these vital causes in cancer research and mental health, but to put a little light on my health and others who find themselves 10 years on from playing sport. I’ve put on 16kg and my cholesterol is pushing 7. My goal is to get these down and to match or even better my climb time of 7min15 sec.
I’d encourage everyone who hasn’t seen a doctor or had a health check to get one. It can’t hurt to know where you are at, it might even prompt you to make a change.
With that all said, this is a fundraising event and I’m hoping with your help I can reach my target of $500. This is tax deductible, so if you run a business, tip a $100 in and claim it. You won’t even notice it and you’ll be supporting mental health and cancer research.
9/11 Memorial
The Melbourne Firefighter Stair Climb remembers the 343 Firefighters that lost their lives in the line of duty on 11th September 2001.
My stair climb race bib will include the name and photo of FDNY Firefighter Thomas T Haskell Jr in memory of their sacrifice made on that fateful day. Search and read more about Thomas T Haskell Jr.
So far, I've raised $1,150 of my $500 fundraising goal.
