Here's your chance to pit yourself against 600 Firefighters in a climb up 28 floors wearing 25kgs of Turnout Gear and Breathing Apparatus. This year, the Firefighter's Charity Fund with your help will be climbing to raise $700,000 to aid in the fight against depression, PTSI and suicide. Compete, donate, or sponsor a Firefighter to help the Emergency Services Foundation support mental health initiatives.
Hi, my name is Ethan Norbury. I am a Forth Generation Firefighter, I come from a family with over a hundred years of service to the volunteer fire service. I joined the Country Fire Authority Junior Program when I was 13 years of age, The day I turned 16, I joined my local Country Fire Authority Brigade, and since then I have completed many courses including Breathing Apparatus, Low Structure and many others. A couple year ago I was diagnosed with severe depression and struggled with my mental health till I was able to get the health I need, sadly I still have the scar to remind me of the struggle. On Saturday 7th of September 2024, I will be battling 28 floors in up to 25kg of turnout gear and breathing apparatus as a symbol of the burden of significant health and well-being issues faced by our first responders and their families on a daily basis
So far, I've raised $0 of my $1,000 fundraising goal.
