Climbing for SA CFS Compton

Hi, I’m Corey Crafter, and this is my 6th year competing in the Melbourne Firefighter Stair Climb.

After deciding not to climb in 2023, I have chosen to come out of retirement and have another go in 2024. On September 7, I will be climbing the 28 floors of the Crown Metropol, wearing 25 kgs of turnout gear.

This year I, along with others aim to raise $750,000 for Cancer Research and Crisis Support, raising money for Lifeline, Peter MacCallum Cancer Foundation and the 000 Foundation.

I have set my personal goals to be the biggest yet, and to raise a minimum of $3000, and also get to the top of the stairs in under 9 minutes, 36 seconds to beat my quickest time up the stairs.

9/11 Memorial

The Melbourne Firefighter Stair Climb remembers the 343 Firefighters that lost their lives in the line of duty on 11th September 2001.

My stair climb race bib will include the name and photo of FDNY Firefighter Dennis Mojica in memory of their sacrifice made on that fateful day. Search and read more about Dennis Mojica.
